Behind the Indigo Chick
Writer, artist, and editor Skyla Dawn Cameron worked behind the scenes in publishing for six years as a cover artist, editor, and art director. She went exclusively freelance in 2013, and approaches cover art both as a writer and a graphic designer: she knows how important it is for the cover to represent the feel of your novel, but her fine arts and design training has given her the eye for something that’s visually appealing and able to help sell your book.
“Skyla Dawn Cameron has single-handedly dragged my company’s marketing out of the stone-age and thrust us into the age of WOW. I trust her talent for design and innovation implicitly and I can be assured that I will have unique, dynamic marketing concepts delivered without fuss, with very little direction or input from myself and on time. Everything from Facebook banners and profile pictures to product brochures and competition flyers; all eye-catching and thought provoking.”
“Skyla is amazing. She has designed the covers for all of my Blood Kissed books and on the rare occasion I ask for a change (font color or something), she jumps right on it. Don’t even get me started on what a formatting goddess she is. There are a lot of places out there that can help you with one part of getting your book ready for publication. Skyla does it all–she’s your one stop shop for editing, cover art, and formatting.”
“Tearing your hair out over formatting? Worried Smashwords’ meatgrinder will grind up your sanity? With quick turnaround, reasonable price, and professional results, Indigo Chick Designs eBook formatting will save you time and effort, and let you get back to what you do best: writing your next book.”
“Skyla Dawn Cameron’s insights have saved my writing more times than I can count. She offers a wide range of services from content editing to gorgeous cover design. Her feedback helped me take my story from half formed idea to it’s true potential. I cannot recommend her highly enough.”
“Skyla Dawn Cameron will listen closely to your creative ideas, but her added flair always gives back something even better than what you had in mind. After having her design five of my book covers, I’ve come to trust Skyla’s talent and professionalism so much that I plan to throw a full-on bitch tantrum if she ever stops doing this work.”
“[Skyla Dawn Cameron] is quickly becoming my go-to minion for everything from tarp-and-shovel to website maintenance. If you have an ebook that needs formatting, a decent cover for your book, or help navigating self-pubbing with Lightning Source, etc., she’s patient, thorough, reasonably priced, and very communicative with her clients. I can’t recommend her enough.”
